SCOTT, John - Woodham

John, aged 61 years, suddenly in hospital on April 22 of Woodham. Much loved husband of Karin, dearly loved dad of Sarah and Michael, dear father-in-law of Nick, devoted grandad of Cedric and a dear son and brother.

Funeral service to take place in Durham Crematorium on Wednesday, 10 May at 3pm. Family flowers only. Donations if desired may be sent for The British Heart Foundation c/o Whitehouse Funeral Service.

My condolences, thoughts, and prayers are with you, Karin, Sarah, Michael, and all your family at this sad time. John was an example to me always actively including everyone and making things fun with his humour. He is missed and has had a positive impact on so many.

Not, what did they gain, but what did they give?
These are the units to measure the worth
Of a person as a person, regardless of birth.
Not, what was their church, nor what was their creed?
But had they befriended those really in need?
Were they ever ready, with a word of good cheer,
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not, what did the sketch in the newspaper say,
But how many were sorry when they passed away?
