Fundraising event at the Victorian Christmas Market held at The Waterworks in Darlington
December 4th, 2023
Saturday brought another triumphant fundraising day at The Waterworks in Darlington, featuring a spectacular Victorian Christmas Fayre. Dorothy Whitehouse showcased a delightful array of handmade arts and crafts, made by herself and the wonderful ladies of the Sharing Together Craft Group in Newton Aycliffe resulting in an impressive total of £450 raised. In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude, £50 was donated to The Waterworks to express thanks to Martyn Brown Chairman of The Waterworks, his wife Ruth, and the entire team for hosting such an enchanting Fayre that truly transported visitors back in time. These events are indispensable, and without the hard efforts of Martyn and his team, The Waterworks wouldn't be able to continue its vital work.
In the spirit of giving, £200 was also donated to the Women's Refuge to support their crucial work, and the remaining £200 was dedicated to purchasing toys for the Silent Santa appeal 2023, contributing to the joy of the holiday season for those in need.
