Twiddle Muffs for those with Dementia
July 3rd, 2024

Dorothy Whitehouse and the ladies from the Sharing Together Craft Group have been busy creating Twiddle Muffs, designed specifically for individuals suffering from dementia. These knitted muffs feature a variety of attached items, such as textured ribbons, beads, and different fabrics, both inside and outside. This design helps keep the hands of dementia patients active and busy, providing both warmth and engagement for restless hands.

Yesterday, Dorothy delivered the Twiddle Muffs to Wilton House Care Home in Darlington. Dawn, who works closely with care homes in the Darlington area, will distribute these muffs to residents in local care homes who suffer from dementia. It is our hope that the residents will find comfort and benefit from the Twiddle Muffs.
